ABSENCES ARE INEVITABLE
The living room as a place of public/private activity is examined. All items in this space have been cleared away. Each white pedestal encases a piece of furniture from the space's initial use. The inside of each pedestal is illuminated; the viewer can see the furniture through a tiny slit. Throughout the installation interviews are conducted with people who visit. The interviews are audio-recorded and placed inside different pedestals. Over time more interviews are conducted and overlapping dialogue fills the room. The new space is filled with accumulated dialogue. A book was made as documentation of the project.
